Morocco Announces Eid al-Adha 2024 Date, Aligning with Global Muslim Celebrations

Eid Al-Adha 2024 is one of the most important celebrations for Muslims. When will it take place in Morocco?
Eid Al-Adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Hijri calendar. It is usually held during the Hajj period, the great pilgrimage to Mecca, precisely the day after the gathering of pilgrims on Mount Arafat. And, Muslims around the world celebrate Eid el-Kebir for three days.
According to a world map published on the website of the International Astronomy Center, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the crescent will be visible to the naked eye on Friday, June 7 in Morocco and in much of the Muslim world. The 1st day of the Muslim month of Dhu Al Hijja will therefore be on June 8. The 10th of the month Dhu Al-Hijja, synonymous with the day of Eid Al Adha, will consequently coincide with Monday, June 17, specifies the International Astronomy Center.
In Morocco, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs will officially announce the date of Eid al-Adha 2024 in the coming days.
