Morocco Dominates Congo 6-0 in World Cup Qualifier Match

Morocco crushed Congo (6-0) on Tuesday at the Grand Stadium of Agadir during the 4th round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Another victory for Morocco. On Tuesday, the Atlas Lions beat the Red Devils of Congo in a rout of 6-0. Azzedine Ounahi, the revelation of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, opens the scoring in the 8th minute of play after a magnificent dribble and a cross shot with his right foot. Eight minutes later, Chadi Riad takes advantage of a deflected shot from Eliesse Ben Seghir and scores his first goal for the national team. In the 20th minute, a pass from Achraf Hakimi allows Ayoub El Kaabi, the top scorer in the Europa Conference League, to score the third goal. In the 39th minute of play, the star striker of Olympiacos scores the fourth goal after a cross from Ounahi. Back from the locker room, he offers himself a hat-trick before being replaced by Soufian Rahimi. Barely entered the game, the latter scores the sixth and final goal of the match in the 62nd.
With this big win against Congo, Morocco consolidates its position as leader of group E with 9 points (3 wins in three games), ahead of Zambia (6 points in three games), and is getting closer to the 2026 World Cup which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The next match for Walid Regragui’s protégés will be in March against Niger.
