Morocco Coach Regragui Praises Team Depth Ahead of World Cup Qualifier Against Congo
Both Hakim Ziyech and Brahim Diaz are important for the Moroccan national team, said national coach Walid Regragui on Monday at the pre-match press conference against Congo, scheduled for this Tuesday at the Grand Stade d’Agadir as part of the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup African qualifiers.
The Moroccan players are talented and each bring added value to the national team, Regragui affirmed, hailing the quality of play of the new recruits like Diaz, Ben Seghir and El Azzouzi, and recognizing the place of Ziyech whom he considers as one of the players who have marked the history of the Moroccan national team.
The Moroccan technician assured that he will work to strengthen cohesion within the team and make the attack more dynamic. For the match against Congo scheduled for this Tuesday at the Grand Stade d’Agadir, Regragui aims for the victory of the Atlas Lions in order to ensure qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Morocco faces Congo this Tuesday after defeating Zambia 2-1 last Friday in the third round of the 2026 World Cup African qualifiers. The Atlas Lions thus take the lead in Group E with 6 points, ahead of Tanzania, Zambia and Congo.
