Morocco’s Coach Regragui Faces Tough Choices for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, has many offensive options for the matches against Zambia and Congo scheduled in June as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, and is spoiled for choice.
Walid Regragui is facing a real headache in composing his attack. He doesn’t know who to choose between the Moroccan internationals Youssef En-Nesyri, Ayoub El Kaabi, Abderrazak Hamdallah and Soufiane Rahimi. His staff and him are studying the main striker who will lead the Atlas Lions in the matches against Zambia and Congo. A task that proves very difficult, as all these players are performing very well this season.
Olympiacos Greek striker Ayoub El Kaabi has scored nearly 30 goals this season. His compatriot Abderrazak Hamdallah, who plays for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, has scored around 26 goals in all competitions. Youssef En-Nesyri of Sevilla FC has scored 13 goals this season. As for Soufiane Rahimi, he is at the peak of his form with Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates, especially in the Asian Champions League.
Walid Regragui should unveil the final list of Moroccan players he could call up for the matches against Zambia and Congo scheduled in June as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, by the end of May.
