Morocco Dominates African Karate Championship with 37 Medals, Clinches Continental Title

Morocco has carved out the lion’s share by winning 37 medals at the African Karate Championship. The competition took place in Tangier, from February 7 to 9, with the bonus of the African champion title won by the kingdom.
Morocco did not rest during this edition of the African Karate Championship. It came out on top with the title thanks to the 37 medals won, including 15 gold, 13 silver and 9 bronze. The kingdom thus surpasses Egypt with 39 medals, including 11 gold, 19 silver and 9 bronze, ahead of Algeria, third in the competition with a total of 20 medals.
The championship for the senior category was in its 19th edition, the 11th for the juniors and the 3rd edition for the cadets. Organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines (FRMK), it saw the participation of 400 karateka from 29 African countries.
