Morocco Strikes Gold at World Karate Championships, Wins 8 Medals

At the end of the 2019 Cadet World Karate Championships, which took place from October 23 to 27 in Santiago, Chile, the Moroccan karateka, Yassine Sekouri, won the gold medal in the under 21 (U21, -75 kg) category. This title represents the third world title won by Morocco.
In total, Morocco won eight medals during this competition. Yassine Sekouri, Mehdi Sriti and Aya Ouhra (category +54 kg) each won the gold medal. Anas Alami and Mohamed Bahri won two bronze medals in the U21, respectively, in the 67 and 84 kg events.
Benchbab Saouesen won the bronze medal in the -54 kg (cadet) category. As for Aya Nassiri, she obtained the bronze medal in individual Kata. Abdelali Jina, for his part, won the silver medal in the junior -55 kg category.
Morocco was able to win these 8 different medals at the end of the fourth and penultimate day of the 2019 Cadet World Karate Championships.
