Moroccan Taekwondo Team Secures 7 Medals at Paris International Tournament

Seven medals were won by the Moroccan national Taekwondo team during the competitions of the open international tournament, organized in Paris from November 15 to 17.
The harvest was good for Morocco in taekwondo: 7 medals including 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze. The only one to have won the gold medal, champion Abdelbasset Wasfi (-63 kg) beat his Kosovar rival, Arbert Azemi, in the final.
As for the silver medals, they were won by Soukaïna Sahib (-46kg) after her defeat in the final match against the Croatian Paula Antunovic, by Wafae El Atri (-67 kg) after her failure against the Canadian champion Melissa Pagnotta and by Nada Laaraj after her fall in the final against the Pole Patrycja Adamkiewicz.
Regarding the bronze medals, they were snatched by Ayoub Bassel (+87 kg), beaten in the semi-finals by the Mexican Carlos Sansores, with Safia Salih (- 62 kg) following her defeat against the Spaniard Eva Calvo Gomez and by Fatima-Ezzahra Aboufaras in the category of over 73 kg after her defeat against the Austrian champion, Marlene Jahl.
Thanks to these results, the Moroccan selection ranks 4th out of 53 participating countries, according to the statement from the Royal Moroccan Taekwondo Federation.
