Morocco Dominates Pre-Olympic Boxing Tournament in Dakar, Secures 8 Medals

Morocco won first place in the medal table of the pre-Olympic boxing tournament in Dakar, with 8 medals, including 4 gold and 4 bronze.
Good harvest for the kingdom! Its 13 representatives at the pre-Olympic tournament, including 8 men and 5 women, distinguished themselves by winning several medals. The gold medals were won by the boxers, Rabab Cheddar (51 kg), Khadija Mardi (75 kg) and Oumayma Bel Ahbib (69 kg) among the women, and Youness Baala (91 kg), among the men.
With its 8 medals, Morocco takes the lead among the medaling countries, ahead of Algeria which won 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze. It is followed by Cameroon and Zambia, respectively with 3 medals, including 2 gold, 1 bronze and 1 gold, 2 silver. As for Tunisia, it occupies 5th place with 1 gold medal and 2 silver.
During this qualifying stage, which ended on Saturday, six Moroccan boxers (3 men and 3 women) qualified for the Tokyo Olympics, at the end of the Dakar tournament. They are Rabab Cheddar (51 kg), Khadija Mardi (75 kg) and Oumayma Bel Ahbib (69 kg) among the women, and Youness Baala (91 kg), Abelhaq Nadir (63 kg) and Mohamed Assaghir (81 kg), on the men’s side.
