Morocco Deploys 8,000 Police for World Cup Heroes’ Homecoming Celebration

To welcome and celebrate the Moroccan players returning from Qatar where they represented Morocco with dignity, the authorities have put in place a security system of the highest order.
About 8,000 police officers were mobilized by the Wilaya of Rabat to welcome the Atlas Lions. The Director General of National Security, Abdellatif Hammouchi, accompanied by senior officials, went to the site to supervise this important system which aims to accompany the procession of the Moroccan delegation. The celebrations will be presided over by King Mohammed VI.
As part of this system put in place, a municipal decree announced this Tuesday morning the suspension of traffic on the various boulevards that are to welcome the players’ procession. Regular security groups specialized in securing large events, teams to intervene in anticipation of emergency events, and mobile patrols from various police units, including mounted teams and police dogs.
