Morocco Considers Extending Nationwide Health Emergency Amid Government Council Meeting

Under the chairmanship of its head, Aziz Akhannouch, the government is holding its council this Thursday. On the agenda of the work, the examination of five draft decrees, among others, a decree relating to the extension of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Department, the council will be devoted to the examination of a draft decree on the amendment of the decree taken for the application of the law relating to the Competition Council.
This will be followed by the examination of a draft decree on the amendment of the decree taken for the application of the law relating to the freedom of prices and competition, while the fourth concerns the reorganization of the "Hassan II Prize for Manuscripts" and the last project aims to amend the decree on the allowances granted to members of the Competition Council, the statement said.
Then, the Executive will focus on the study of a framework cooperation agreement in the field of logistics between the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of the Republic of Chad, signed in Rabat on December 10, 2021, with a draft law approving said framework agreement.
Finally, the Council will rule on proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.
