Morocco Considers Extending Covid-19 Emergency Measures Amid Cannabis Law Changes

Fourteen draft decrees will be on the agenda of the Council of Government to be held next Monday. These include the decree implementing Articles 32 and 35 of the law on the lawful uses of cannabis and the one concerning the amendment of the decree extending the duration of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory to deal with the spread of Covid-19.

The Council of Government’s agenda next Monday will also include the examination of four draft decrees concerning appointments to senior positions and the related salaries and allowances in the administrations at the regional, prefectural and provincial, municipal and district levels, as well as those of inter-municipal cooperation institutions and groups of local authorities.

The Council will examine a draft decree amending and supplementing the decree on the application of the law on the practice of medicine and another establishing a commission to monitor the profession by foreigners in Morocco and the modalities of its operation.

The government ministers will have to reflect on other projects, including one concerning the clearance easements installed near airports open to air navigation as well as the radio installations created next to the communication, navigation and control equipment related to air navigation.

Before closing the session, the Council will rule on proposals for appointments to senior positions in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.
