Morocco Cocaine Beach Bust: 18 Arrested as Investigation Expands

As it continues its investigation into the case of the cocaine that washed up on the beach of Sidi Rahal, the Royal Gendarmerie of Berrechid has arrested more suspects, thus increasing the number of people apprehended.
8 more arrests were made as part of the cocaine case that washed up in Sidi Rahal. The suspects were taken into custody. In total, there are 18 suspects arrested, as 10 other people had been incarcerated before them.
Among them, the 10 people suspected of possessing part of the cocaine were brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office, before being placed in pre-trial detention at the Berrechid prison, according to the newspaper Al Massae.
To recall, the services of the Royal Gendarmerie of Berrechid were informed of the discovery of a large quantity of cocaine on the beach of Sidi Rahal. Having gone to the scene, the elements of this structure seized 750 kilograms of cocaine, divided into 33 bales, one of which was open and was probably looted by unknown individuals, recalls the same source.
Subsequently, the judicial investigations of the gendarmerie of Berrechid will lead to the arrest of 8 individuals, including 2 minors from Casablanca.
The broadcast of an amateur video showing the suspects transporting cocaine was the trigger for their arrest.
