Moroccan Raï Star Cheb Simo Arrested for Cocaine Possession, Released on Bail

The Royal Gendarmerie of Harhoura, a seaside resort south of Rabat, arrested the singer Cheb Simo. He had several grams of cocaine in his possession.
Cheb Simo was arrested in possession of cocaine and then released on bail. This raï celebrity was accompanied by a young Moroccan woman residing in the United Arab Emirates, reports Le360.
According to the same source, she was also brought before the public prosecutor’s office as she was accused of "incitement to debauchery".
After their arrest, Cheb Simo cooperated with the Royal Gendarmerie of Harhoura by providing details on the dealers who supply the customers. This collaboration made it possible to identify traffickers and issue wanted notices against them.
Subsequently, on Monday, September 23, the public prosecutor’s office granted provisional release to Cheb Simo and his companion in exchange for the payment of bail for each of them. They are prohibited from leaving the national territory. The trial will be held in the very near future.
