Former Moroccan Police Officer Arrested in Major Cocaine Trafficking Bust Near Rabat

Another new arrest in the case of 476 kg of cocaine seized in an apartment in Harhoura, near Rabat. The suspect’s name is Amine E., a former police motorcycle officer.
Amine E. would be one of the main persons responsible for an international cocaine trafficking and money laundering network, reports h24info. This former motorcycle police officer from the fourth district of Yaacoub Al Mansour in Rabat is the owner of a seafood restaurant in the Agdal district of Rabat and a car rental agency that he would have used for money laundering. He is also the manager of a café belonging to a Spanish national, currently absent from Moroccan territory.
Last Tuesday, the judicial police elements of Témara and Casablanca had carried out a joint operation which resulted in the seizure of 476 kg of cocaine in an apartment in Harhoura, near Rabat, indicated the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
The preliminary investigation was a success: a 40-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested. Similarly, the national security elements had proceeded to seize a hunting rifle and 19 caliber 22 mm cartridges, sums of money in national and foreign currency, a tear gas bomb, 12 luxury watches, jewelry, a digital camera, 3 checkbooks and a bill of exchange with an amount of 1,200,000 dirhams, as well as travel documents and identity papers and a 4x4 during the searches in the apartment where the cocaine was hidden.
The cocaine, of superior quality, came from Colombia, and the alleged traffickers intended to sell it in the vicinity of Bouznika and Témara, the DGSN specified.
