Massive 3-Ton Cocaine Haul Washes Ashore on Moroccan Beach, Sparking Investigation

3 tons of cocaine is what was washed up by the sea on the beach of Sidi Rahal, in the province of Berrechid. The cargo discovered on Sunday, August 11, 2019, was seized by the authorities.
The sea washed up suspicious packages. These contained more than 3 tons of cocaine, in the douar of Ihouaoura, in the province of Berrechid.
As soon as they were alerted, the local authorities and the gendarmes, who arrived on the scene, opened an investigation, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case.
For the moment, the origin of this drug and even less its recipients are unknown. As for the packages, they were recovered for the needs of the investigation.
