Morocco Coach Renard Expresses Shame After Shock AFCON Elimination

It was a very emotional Hervé Renard who presented himself on Friday, July 5th, evening, at the post-match press conference, Morocco-Benin, which saw the elimination of the "Atlas Lions" when they were considered to be among the favorites for the title.
Addressing the supporters, the coach declares: "The only thing I want to say is ’Thank you very much’ to all the fans who came to Egypt to support us. I know that some of them have made a lot of sacrifices."
And he adds: "So I’m a little ashamed in front of them and especially in front of all the people who have supported us for more than three years. You know, in life, some are against you but that’s the way it is. You just have to look ahead and remember the positive things above all."
Morocco, it should be remembered, was eliminated on Friday, July 5th, evening, in the round of 16 of the CAN by the Benin team. It goes out through the small door when it was given the big favorite to win the supreme title. This elimination probably means the end of Hervé Renard’s adventure at the head of the "Atlas Lions".
