Morocco Coach Regragui Scouts Europe for World Cup Qualifier Talent

After Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, could fly to Europe where many Moroccan players play.
Walid Regragui is looking for Moroccan players he could call up for the matches against Zambia and Congo scheduled in June as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The match between the Atlas Lions and the Chipolopolos will take place in Agadir, while the one against the Congolese will be held on Congolese territory. Accompanied by his assistant Rachid Benmahmoud, he has traveled to the Gulf, particularly in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates where Abderrazak Hamdallah, Jawad El Yamiq, Soufiane Rahimi or Abdelhamid Sabiri, etc. play. This tour brings hope to these Moroccan players who expect to be called up by the coach of the Moroccan national team.
Regragui’s goal is to form the best group for the Atlas Lions’ upcoming matches, and he could make a trip to the European leagues in the coming days. This will be an opportunity for him to meet other players, such as Ismail Saibari, who plays as a midfielder at PSV Eindhoven. He could inquire about his health status. Last February, the 23-year-old player had to leave his teammates in the middle of the match during the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Borussia Dortmund due to a knee injury.
