Morocco’s Regragui Eyes Taarabt for World Cup Qualifier Squad

Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, recently traveled to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to search for Moroccan players he could call up for the matches against Zambia and Congo scheduled in June as part of the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. Adel Taarabt, midfielder of Al-Nasr (Dubai) who is performing well, could be on the next list of the Moroccan coach.
Adel Taarabt back in the national team soon? The former Moroccan international could rejoin the den of the Atlas Lions. Walid Regragui could call him up for the matches against Zambia and Congo scheduled in June as part of the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. Currently, the Al-Nasr midfielder is at the peak of his form. He has helped his club Al-Nasr win four consecutive matches, strengthening its position in the Emirati professional league. He also played a major role in his club’s qualification for the final of the UAE Football Cup. He scored two goals in a match that ended in a 4-3 victory for Al-Nasr over Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai in the semi-finals.
These performances earned Taarabt the award for best player in the ADNOC Pro League for the month of April. In a statement to the press, he says he is satisfied to receive this award. This distinction, he says, is the result of teamwork and the joint efforts of all the members of the club. The 34-year-old player says he is focusing on preparing for the final of the UAE Football Cup. He expresses his determination to continue to give his best to help Al-Nasr achieve more success.
