Morocco Closes Rabat-Salé Airport, More Closures Expected Amid Travel Restrictions

The Moroccan authorities have decided to close Rabat-Salé airport. The other airports should follow in the coming days.
Air traffic is almost at a standstill, with the exception of a few rare domestic or special flights, intended to repatriate tourists stranded in Morocco since the suspension of international flights for passengers on March 15.
According to statements from an official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, all special flights scheduled at this airport have been redirected to Casablanca and Fès.
In addition, the last special flights are scheduled for the end of the week. With the entry into force of mandatory confinement, it is not excluded to close all other airports to limit the movements of citizens to the strict minimum.
