Morocco Authorizes Special Flights for Foreigners and Expats Amid Travel Suspension

Before Morocco’s decision to suspend, until further notice, all international passenger flights to and from its territory, foreigners and Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) were able to leave the country. This was through five exceptional flights that departed on Saturday from Tangier Ibn Battouta airport.
In total, 10 international flights, five inbound and five outbound, were exceptionally authorized, said the head of the airport operations service at Tangier Ibn Battouta airport, Abdelghani El Yaalaoui.
The 5 additional flights of the airline Air Arabia were scheduled to allow foreign travelers and Moroccans residing abroad to travel to the European countries where flights had been suspended.
It should be noted that Morocco has taken a series of measures as part of efforts to contain the new coronavirus and fight its spread. The suspension of flights to and from the country, until further notice, remains one of the main measures.
