Morocco Allows Special Flights to Repatriate European Tourists Amid COVID-19 Travel Ban

Special flights to repatriate stranded European tourists in Morocco. This measure was taken after Morocco suspended all its international flights with the world between Saturday and Sunday, particularly between France and Spain, to limit the spread of COVID-19. It should be noted that many Moroccans are also stuck in airports in France and Spanish ports.
With this exception to the general suspension measure, the tension that was high at Marrakech airport has eased a notch with special flights for several people. This is evidenced by the departure of several flights to France, Spain, Belgium and Germany since Sunday. Around forty flights to France are also planned. Other European tourists can return to Spain thanks to the partial reopening of the Moroccan borders of Sebta and Mellilia.
Faced with coronavirus cases detected in Morocco, the government has released a special fund of 10 billion dirhams to provide health care and mitigate the adverse economic effects of the virus in tourism.
The government is taking preventive measures against the disease. We can note the ban on gatherings of more than 50 people; the closure of schools and universities; the provision of 1,600 beds for intensive care, including 250 dedicated to coronavirus cases for a population of 35 million.
