Morocco Closes Popular Beaches as COVID-19 Cases Rise in Benslimane Province

Local authorities have decided to close, at midnight on Friday, the beaches of the province of Benslimane by virtue of a decision aimed at countering the spread of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
These are the beaches of Mansouria and Oued Cherrat and the seaside resort of Bouznika, which have been experiencing an influx of vacationers in recent weeks.
The implementation of this measure has been entrusted to the local administrative authorities and the security services, in collaboration with the provincial services of Equipment and Local Authorities of Bouznika, El Mansouria and Cherrat.
According to the August 20 report of the Health Delegation, the province of Benslimane has recorded 273 cases of contamination, including 224 recoveries and 2 deaths, since early March.
