Morocco Clinches 20 Medals, Secures 2nd Place at Arab Youth Athletics Championships

Morocco finished 2nd at the U20 Arab athletics championships, held from May 23 to 27 at the athletics stadium in Radès, Tunisia.
Moroccan athletes won 20 medals, including 6 gold and 8 silver. Egypt tops the list with a total of 32 medals (13 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze). Algeria won 5 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals. Bahrain finished 5th with 12 medals (5 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze).
Among the Moroccan athletes who helped Morocco emerge victorious from this competition are: Sana Hasnaoui in the 1500m, the women’s 4x400m relay team, Fatma Zahra Al chafayek in the 400m hurdles, Fatma Aefir in the 1500m and Mohamed Alattieti in the 5000m.
A total of 28 Moroccan athletes, including 14 women, took part in this competition, which brought together around 350 athletes from 13 countries. Morocco’s performance earned it 6 places at the Junior World Championships to be held in Cali, Colombia, from August 1 to 6.
