Morocco to Celebrate Eid al-Adha on June 29, 2023

Astronomical calculations indicate that the Eid al-Adha 2023 festival will be celebrated in Morocco this summer. What date to remember?
Sunday, June 18, 2023 will mark the beginning of the observation of the new moon of the month of Dhu Al Hijja 2023/1444. The crescent will only be visible the next day, Monday, June 19, since Morocco adopts the criterion of visual visibility with the naked eye. The data from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs confirm: "the crescent will be too young (between 2:50 pm in Oujda and 3:47 pm) to be observed at sunset on June 18. It will, however, be visible from the next day, June 19," reports Médias24. Thus, the 1st of Dhu Al Hijja will correspond to Tuesday, June 20. Eid al-Adha will therefore be celebrated on Thursday, June 29, corresponding to the 10th of Dhu Al Hijja.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs will officially announce the date of Eid al-Adha 2023 in the coming days.
