Morocco Braces for Scorching 41°C Heat Wave, Isolated Thunderstorms
It should still be hot this Friday, May 22, despite some risk of thunderstorms in certain parts of the kingdom. The expected temperatures range from 7 to 41 degrees.
According to the National Meteorology Directorate, the heat wave is to be feared on the plains west of the Atlas, the Souss and the south of the country. Clouds accompanied by mist or fog are expected in places on the coasts and the north and central plains. Risks of thunderstorms are announced on the High Atlas and its eastern slopes in the afternoon.
In the morning, the expected temperatures will be between 7 and 13 degrees on the reliefs and the eastern High Plateaus, between 22 and 26 degrees on the southeast and east of the southern provinces and between 17 and 22 degrees elsewhere.
In the afternoon, it will be between 26 and 33 degrees on the reliefs, the Oriental and near the coasts, between 32 and 36 degrees on the southeast, Chaouia, Doukkala and Abda slopes and between 35 and 41 degrees on the Gharb, the west of Tangier, the Loukkos, the Saiss, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Tadla, Rhamna, the interior of Chiadma, the Souss and the interior of the southern provinces.
