Morocco Braces for Extreme Heat as Temperatures Soar to 44°C (111°F)

The hot weather continues today in Morocco with temperatures well above 40 degrees. According to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN), 44 degrees are expected in the south of the country.
The heat wave is to be feared during this Saturday, May 23 on the interior plains, the Souss and the South of the country. Slightly unstable clouds with scattered showers and risk of thunderstorms on the High Atlas, the Anti-Atlas and probably the South-East slopes will be recorded.
In the morning, minimum temperatures of the order of 11 to 16 degrees will be recorded on the reliefs and the eastern High Plateaus, 21 to 26 degrees on the Saiss, the plains to the West of the Atlas, the Souss, the South-East and the interior of the southern provinces and 16 to 21 degrees.
In the afternoon, it will be between 26 and 31 degrees on the reliefs, the Oriental and near the coasts, 31 and 36 degrees on the Moulouya valley, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus and on the South-East slopes, 36 and 41 degrees on the Saiss, the plains, the Souss and the North of the southern provinces and 41 and 44 degrees on the South of the Saharan provinces.
