Morocco Braces for Heatwave as Temperatures Soar to 43°C (109°F)

The sun will be present in most of the country this Thursday, May 28, with temperatures ranging from 12 to 43 degrees. It will be very hot in southern Morocco, according to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN).
The interior plains, the Saiss, the Souss, the southeast and the south of the country will experience summer temperatures. This wave will be accompanied by unstable clouds with showers or thunderstorms sometimes on the Atlas, the Oriental, the Saiss, the southeast slopes and probably the plains to the west of the Atlas.
Minimum temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees on the Atlas and Rif mountains, 23 to 28 degrees on the Saiss, the plains west of the Atlas, the Souss, the Southeast and the interior of the southern provinces, and 18 to 23 degrees elsewhere.
In the afternoon, it will be between 19 and 24 degrees on the Atlas and Mediterranean mountains, 24 and 29 degrees on the Oriental near the Atlantic coast, 30 to 35 degrees on the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the southeast slopes and the central regions, 35 and 40 degrees on the Saiss, the interior plains, the Souss and the north of the southern provinces, and 40 and 43 degrees on the far south and southeast of the country.
