Morocco Braces for Intense Heat Wave as Temperatures Soar to 48°C (118°F)

Several regions of the Kingdom will experience a significant rise in temperatures until Tuesday, warns the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN).
Temperatures will exceed the monthly norms by 5 to 10 degrees. This heat wave will mainly affect the southern regions, the interior of the Souss, the plains of Tadla, the Haouz, Rhamna, Chiadma, Tansift. The phosphate plateaus, Oulmès, the Saiss, the interior of the Gharb, Koukkous, Chaouia and Abda as well as the eastern and southeastern regions of the country will not be spared.
In the South, southeast, in the interior of the southern provinces, the Souss, the Tadla plains, the Haouz, Tansift, Rhamna, Chaidma, the interior of the Gharb, Loukkous and Chaouia, temperatures will range between 45 and 48 degrees.
On the other hand, they will vary between 40 and 45 degrees on the northern and central Atlantic plains, the Saiss, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Gharb, Loukkous and the Oriental. On the northern Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, they will vary between 28 and 36 degrees.
Temperatures will gradually decrease from next Wednesday, even if the relatively hot weather will continue in the south and southeast of the country, the press release from the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN) also indicates.
