Morocco Braces for Extreme Heat as Temperatures Soar to 47°C (116°F)

In the afternoon, it is expected to be 42 to 47 degrees in the far southeast of the country, the east and interior of the southern provinces and the interior of the Souss, 36 to 41 degrees in the southeast, the east of the Saiss, the interior plains, Chiadma, the Phosphate plateaus and Oulmès, 30 to 36 degrees on the Mediterranean coast, the Oriental, the Saiss, Abda, the Atlantic plains, the southeastern slopes, the Rif, the Middle Atlas, the Anti-Atlas and near the central and southern coasts, and 24 to 30 degrees on the northern coast and the High Atlas.
