Morocco Braces for Heavy Snow and Freezing Temperatures as Winter Storm Approaches

Snowfall is expected from Thursday in several Moroccan provinces, warns the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), which also forecasts strong winds and temperatures well below 0.
Thus, 15 to 20 cm of snow are expected in Ifrane, Khenifra, Sefrou, Taza, Midelt, Boulemane, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz and Tinghir, the DGM said in an orange level bulletin.
Similarly, cold weather will be recorded in the country the next day, Friday, with temperatures of -8 degrees to -4 degrees in Ifrane, Midelt, Boulemane, Azilal and Beni Mellal and -4 degrees to 0 degrees in Al Haouz, Tinghir, Sefrou and Figuig.
On Thursday, gusts of wind up to 90 km/h are expected in Nador, Driouech, Al Hoceima, Midelt, Al Haouz and Ouarzazate, it is also reported.
