Winter Storm Brings Heavy Snow and Strong Winds to Multiple Moroccan Provinces

The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts strong wind gusts, snowfall and sometimes thunderstorms starting tomorrow Monday, March 14 in several Moroccan provinces.
Strong wind gusts of 80 to 110 km/h are expected on Monday (00:00 to 23:00) in the provinces of Jerada, Taourirt, Figuig, Oujda-Angad, Midelt, Boulemane, Guercif and Errachidia, the DGM said in an orange weather alert bulletin.
Snowfall (30 to 70 cm) will be recorded from Monday (12:00) to Thursday (23:00) in the provinces of Azilal, Midelt, Ifrane, Boulemane, Taza, Sefrou, Beni-Mellal, Khenifra, Al-Haouz, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Ouarzazate and Tinghir. Snowfall (15-20 cm) will also affect the provinces of Al Hoceima, Guercif, Figuig and Taourirt, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The DGM also announces that heavy rains sometimes thunderstorms (20 to 35 mm) are expected on Monday (00:00 to 12:00) in the provinces of El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Berrechid, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Safi, Inzegane-Ait Melloul, Chtoujka-Ait Baha and Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Fahs-Anjra, Tanger-Assilah and Larache.
