Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Thunderstorms, Snow, and High Winds

Strong thunderstorms, snowfall and strong gusts of wind from this Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in several Moroccan provinces, warns the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
Strong, sometimes thundery rains (15-30 mm) are expected from this Tuesday at 6:00 pm to Wednesday at 5:00 pm in the provinces of Taourirt, Guercif, Jerada, Taza and Nador, specifies the DGM in a weather alert bulletin at the orange vigilance level.
Precipitation ranging from 15 to 25 mm will be recorded on Wednesday from 6 am to 1 pm in the provinces of El Jadida and Safi, and from 30 to 60 mm, from this Wednesday 9 am to Thursday 6 am, in the provinces of M’diq-Fnideq, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Ouezzane, Tanger-Assilah, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Driouch, Sefrou, Meknes, Fes, Ifrane, Taza, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajeb, Khemisset, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Azilal, El Kelaa des Sraghna and Al Haouz, it is also specified.
Snow showers (15-60 cm) are expected from this Wednesday at 6:00 am to Thursday at 11:00 pm, in the provinces of Taza, Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Khenifra, Al Hoceima, Al Haouz, Midelt and Guercif. The DGM also announces that strong gusts of wind (70-85 km/h) will hit the provinces of Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Errachidia, Boulemane and Midelt from this Wednesday at 12:00 pm to Thursday at 6:00 pm.
