Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Heavy Rains, Snow, and Strong Winds

The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts heavy rains sometimes stormy, snowfall above 1,600 m and strong gusts of wind in several Moroccan provinces.
Heavy rains sometimes stormy (70 to 110 mm) are expected until Tuesday at 3pm in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Tetouan, Mdiq-Fnideq, Driouch and Nador, warns the DGM in a red alert bulletin. The same phenomenon (30 to 60 mm) will occur on Monday at 1pm to Tuesday at 3pm in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Berkane and Guercif, specifies the DGM in an orange weather alert bulletin. These heavy rains are also expected (20 to 40 mm) in the provinces of Taounate, Midelt, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Taroudant and Al Haouz. Snowfall above 1,600 m (15-30 cm) will be recorded, on Tuesday, in the provinces of Azilal, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Midelt, Ouarzazate and Taroudant, the same source said.
The DGM also announces that strong gusts of wind (75-90 km/h) will hit the provinces of Fahs-Anjra, Tanger-Assilah, Tétouan, M’diq-Fnideq, Nador, Al Hoceima, Figuig, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Errachidia and Zagora until Tuesday at 6am. The same phenomenon will occur on Tuesday from 9am to 11pm in the provinces of Sidi Bennour, Benslimane, Settat, El Jadida, Berrechid, Nouaceur, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammadia, Safi, Skhirate-Temara, Salé, Rabat, Kenitra and Ouarzazate, adds the same source.
