Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Heavy Rain, Snow, and Strong Winds

Heavy rains sometimes stormy, snowfall and strong gusts of wind are expected this Tuesday, April 5 and tomorrow, Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in several Moroccan provinces, alerts the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
Heavy rains sometimes stormy (40 to 85 mm) are expected, this Tuesday at 3 pm to tomorrow, Wednesday at 12 pm, in the provinces of M’diq-Fnideq, Tanger-Assilah, Ouezzane, Larache, Chefchaouen and Fahs-Anjra, specifies the DGM in a red alert bulletin.
Similarly, rains (30 to 50 mm) are expected during the same period in Taounate, Tétouan and Al Hoceïma. Precipitation (20-35 mm) is expected, from this Tuesday at 3 pm to tomorrow, Wednesday at 7 am, in the cities of Skhirat-Témara, Rabat, Salé, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Khémisset, Kénitra, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, El Jadida, Casablanca, Benslimane, Mediouna and Berrechid. Snowfall (15 to 30 cm) will be recorded in the cities of Azilal, Al Haouz, Ifrane and Al Hoceima.
The DGM also announces that strong gusts of wind (75-90 km/h) will hit this Tuesday from 12 pm to 11 pm the provinces of Sidi Bennour, Benslimane, Settat, El Jadida, Berrechid, Nouaceur, Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Safi, Skhirat-Témara, Salé, Rabat, Kénitra and Ouarzazate. The same phenomenon will occur from this Tuesday at 10 pm to Wednesday at 9 am, in Tanger-Assilah, M’diq-Fnideq, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, Al Hoceïma, Larache, Taza and Ifrane, adds the same source.
