Morocco Braces for Heatwave as Thunderstorms Subside, Temperatures to Reach 39°C

The thunderstorms are giving way to heat. The Directorate General of Meteorology warns that high temperatures are expected in several provinces of Morocco such as Béni Mellal, Marrakech, Tan-Tan and Sidi Ifni from Thursday to Saturday.
The showers should calm down to make way for high temperatures. Temperatures ranging between 34 and 39°C are expected from Thursday to Saturday, April 6 in the provinces of Fquih Ben Saleh, Beni Mellal, Settat, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakech, Azilal, Al Haouz, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Tata, Tan-Tan, Guelmin, Sidi Ifni, Assa-Zag, Tarfaya, Laâyoune, Boujdour, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab and Aousserd, indicates the DGM in a vigilance level "organ" alert bulletin. The mercury should display the same temperatures on Friday, April 5 in Kénitra, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Skhirate-Temara, Khemisset, Salé, Rabat, El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Nouaceur, Mohammedia, Médiouna, Benslimane, Berrechid, Casablanca, Safi, Essaouira, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul and Tiznit.
The DGM also announces that temperatures ranging between 34 and 38°C will be recorded on Friday and Saturday in the provinces of Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Guercif and Taourirt.
