Extreme Heat Wave Hits Morocco: Temperatures to Soar to 42°C (107°F)

Morocco will experience hot weather with temperatures reaching up to 42 degrees, just warned the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
Thus, temperatures between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius are expected this Tuesday, May 28 in the provinces of Zagora, Tata, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Béni Mellal, Fkih Ben Salah and Errachidia, the DGM said in an Orange level alert bulletin.
The heat wave will continue until at least Thursday, according to the DGM. On Wednesday and Thursday, the mercury should fluctuate between 37 and 42°C in the provinces of Béni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknès, El Hajeb, Errachidia, Khénifra, Fès, Sefrou, Moulay Yaâcoub, Azilal, Ouezzane, Khémisset, Rehamna, Tata, Zagora, Kénitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Settat, Al Haouz, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Marrakech, Taounate and inland in the provinces of Larache and Chefchaouen, the DGM bulletin added.
