Morocco Braces for Extreme Heat Wave with Temperatures Soaring to 47°C (116°F)

A new heat wave is expected from Sunday to next Friday in various provinces of the Kingdom with temperatures ranging between 37 and 47°C, announced, Friday, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
Thus, temperatures ranging between 37 and 43°C are expected on Sunday in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Berkane, Oujda-Angad, Driouch, Khenifra, Ifrane, El Hajeb, Nador, Boulemane, Guercif, Taza and Sefrou, indicates the DGM in an alert bulletin of "orange" vigilance level.
The same phenomenon (44-47°C) is expected from Monday to Friday in the provinces of Tata, Assa-Zag, Taroudant, Es-Semera and the interior of the provinces of Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab and Aousserd, continues the same source.
From Monday to Thursday, very hot weather (43-46°C) is expected in the provinces of Ouezzane, Sidi Kacem, Guercif, Taourirt, Meknès, Fès, Taza, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Saleh, Khouribga, Settat, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Essaouira, Marrakech, Rehamna, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Tan Tan, Sidi Ifni and Guelmim.
During the same period, temperatures of 37 to 43°C are expected in the provinces of Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Berkane, Oujda-Angad, Driouch, Khenifra, Ifrane, El Hajeb, Nador, Boulemane, Sefrou, Azilal and Al Haouz.
