Morocco Braces for Extreme Heat Wave with Temperatures Soaring to 48°C

An extreme heat wave is expected from Monday to next Friday in Morocco, according to an alert bulletin from the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).
The provinces of Ouezzane, Guercif, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Taounate, among others, will experience temperatures between 44 and 48°C at the beginning of the week. The DGM has placed these regions under "red" vigilance due to the expected weather conditions.
On the other hand, provinces such as Chefchaouen, El Hajeb, Boulemane, Khenifra, and Youssoufia will experience intense heat, with temperatures ranging from 42 to 44°C. The DGM has placed these regions under "orange" vigilance. The provinces of Al Hoceima, Driouch, Nador, Berkane, Ifrane, among others, will be a little less affected, with expected temperatures between 37 and 41°C on Monday and Tuesday.
The heat will continue to rage from Wednesday to Friday, particularly in the provinces of Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Saleh, Marrakech, and Rehamna, where the mercury will reach between 43 and 46°C. The hot weather will also persist in other provinces, such as Ouezzane, Guercif, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Taounate, with temperatures ranging from 41 to 44°C. The DGM calls for caution and vigilance in the face of these extreme temperatures.
