Morocco Braces for Extreme Heat Wave as Temperatures Near 50°C (122°F)

The heat is intensifying until Thursday with temperatures approaching 50 degrees in several provinces of Morocco, according to the National Meteorology Directorate.
In a special bulletin, the DMN indicates that temperatures ranging from 46 to 49 degrees should affect Wednesday the provinces of Aousserd, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, the interior of Boujdour and Oued Ed-Dahab. They are expected on Thursday in Aousserd.
The provinces of Béni Mellal, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Fquih Ben Salah, Guelmim, Guercif, Khouribga, Marrakech, Rehamna, Settat, Sidi Ifni (interior), Taounate, Taourirt, Taroudant, Tata and Zagora will be affected on Wednesday by temperatures ranging from 43 to 46 degrees.
According to the same source, temperatures between 40 and 43 degrees are expected on Wednesday in Azilal, Boulemane, Chefchaouen, Chichaoua, Driouch, Essaouira, Fes, Khemisset, Khenifra, Laayoune, Meknes, Moulay Yacoub, Nador, Ouezzane, Oujda-Angad, Sefrou, Taza and Youssoufia.
Temperatures between 43 and 46 degrees are expected on Thursday in Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab and Tata, while temperatures between 40 and 43 degrees will affect the provinces of El Kelaa des Sraghna, Fquih Ben Salah and Khouribga.
