Morocco Braces for Extreme Heat Wave During Ramadan, Temperatures to Soar Above 40°C

The intense heat is back in Morocco with temperatures well above 40 degrees this weekend. Extra care will therefore be needed, especially since Moroccans are in the middle of the month of Ramadan.
According to the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN), up to 45 degrees are expected in the country this Saturday, particularly in the provinces of Aousserd where 42 degrees are expected and Oued-Eddahab (45 degrees).
On Sunday, the heat will persist with temperatures above 40 degrees. 42 degrees are expected in the provinces of Boujdour and 44 degrees for example in Laâyoune and Smara.
On Monday, summer temperatures will become widespread and will be between 38 and 42 degrees in Larache, Ouezzane, Kénitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Meknès, Ben Slimane, Berrechid, Settat, Khouribga, Fquih-Bensaleh, Beni-Mellal, Sidi Bennour, Rehamna, Kelaa-Sraghna, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka Ait-Baha, Tiznit and the interior of Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Temara, Safi, Essaouira, Sidi Ifni, Guelmim and Tantan.
