Extreme Heat Wave Hits Southern Morocco as Temperatures Soar Above 40°C

The south of Morocco will experience high temperatures today, warns the National Meteorology Directorate (DMN) in its daily bulletin.
Thus, this afternoon it is expected to be 16 to 21 degrees on the reliefs, 20 to 25 degrees on the north of the Oriental and the northern Atlantic coast, 24 to 30 degrees on the interior northern and central plains, the south and west of the southern provinces, 28 to 34 degrees on the Souss and the southern slopes and 35 to 40 degrees on the far southeast.
With Moroccans in the midst of Ramadan, it is recommended during periods of intense heat to avoid exposure to the sun and limit physical exertion as much as possible. For the elderly, they must stay cool and not move around too much.
In addition to pregnant women, travelers are also allowed to break the fast, especially during periods of intense heat.
