Morocco Boosts Police Fleet with 660 New Vehicles, Enhancing National Security

Some 660 new vehicles have been made available to the central and decentralized services of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) as part of its vehicle and equipment renewal and development plan. This allocation of vehicles should allow them to properly carry out their missions.

This batch of rolling stock includes utility vehicles suitable for the rescue police and other security units, 4X4 vehicles for interventions, light vehicles, quads and motorcycles, and trucks for the national security cavalry and for the cynological brigades, indicates a press release from the DGSN. It also includes buses with a capacity of 11 to 21 seats for the transport of officials for their official and regular missions, trucks for the mobile law enforcement groups, 36 ambulances and three tow trucks.

According to the same press release, utility vehicles have been provided for the rescue police and all other security units, 4 × 4 cars to intervene in various situations and light cars, quads and motorcycles, as well as trucks for the national security cavalry and for the cynological brigades (trained police dogs).

As for the mobile law enforcement groups, they benefit from 14 water pump trucks equipped with surveillance and intervention recording cameras. Added to this are machines to clear the road and remove obstacles that obstruct traffic flow, as well as other state-of-the-art equipment to ensure remote intervention.

Beyond the modernization of its vehicle fleet, the acquisition of these vehicles by the DGSN aims to ensure a rapid response from its services in response to citizens’ calls, it is assured.
