Morocco Boosts Healthcare Sector: Doctors’ Salaries to Increase by Over 3,000 Dirhams

As of January 2023, doctors, pharmacists and dentists will see their salaries increase by more than 3,000 DH. An increase that is part of the reforms carried out by the government and relating to the special status of this profession.
The decision was approved at the government council on September 1, 2022, through the adoption of draft decree No. 2.22.682 amending decree No. 2.99.651 promulgated on October 6, 1999. Published in the official bulletin on September 12, this draft law now allows doctors, pharmacists and dentists to start their professional careers at index 509 instead of index 336.
With the application of index 509, first-grade doctors will find themselves with more than 12,000 DH. For senior doctors, the increase in their salary will allow them to earn more than 16,000 DH. Those of exceptional rank will find themselves with more than 18,000 DH. As for doctors out of grade, with the increase, they will earn more than 21,000 DH as of January 2023.
