Morocco to Begin Clinical Trials of Chinese COVID-19 Vaccine Next Week

Clinical trials of the Chinese anti-covid vaccine will begin next week in Morocco. This step is essential in the process to ensure the safety and efficacy of the product.

These clinical trials in Morocco, which will only involve 600 people, will take place at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital, the Ibn Sina Hospital and the Rabat Military Hospital. This is based on an agreement concluded last Thursday between Morocco and China.

This vaccine is promising as it has been validated by several countries, reassures the Minister of Health. It has reached phase three in clinical trials, that of inoculating thousands of people. A mandatory step in the product validation process, says Professor Moulay Mustapha Naji, director of the virology laboratory at the University of Hassan II in Casablanca, who points out that at this stage, scientists can collect precise results on the rate, duration of effectiveness and the vaccine’s ability to immunize people of different origins and nationalities.

The trials start to take effect from the fifteenth day but the researchers have set a period of one and a half months before being able to pronounce on the final result.

As for the Moroccan vaccine, the research is advanced. The first tests on Moroccan volunteers will start next week with the application of strict legal measures in force in this field, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.
