Morocco Begins Clinical Trials for Chinese Covid-19 Vaccine with 600 Volunteers

600 Moroccans have volunteered to participate in the clinical trials of the Covid-19 vaccine, which will take place at the university hospitals of Rabat and Casablanca as well as the military hospital of Rabat.
This is the vaccine developed by the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm. In addition to Morocco, the clinical trials starting next week also concern China, the United Arab Emirates, Peru and Argentina. According to Medias24, which has the information from a credible source, this is a trial supervised by an ethics committee and conducted in compliance with Law No. 28-13 on the protection of persons participating in biomedical research. All of this will be done in compliance with the law on the protection of personal data.
According to the same source, Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb has high hopes for these clinical trials. If the results are conclusive, Morocco could manufacture this vaccine itself through the Sothema laboratory, which will be the producer or partner in production.
