A man believed to be close to ISIS was arrested on Thursday in Tetouan by the services of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) and the Special Force of the DGST. He was about to act.
The 36-year-old extremist was apprehended during an operation carried out by elements of the DGST Special Force, with the coordination and cooperation on the ground of judicial police officers from the BCIJ, reports the MAP, citing a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to the DGSN, the man is imbued with extremist ideas inciting the excommunication (Takfir) of society and the representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies. The source also indicates that he is very active within virtual networks and communication channels that glorify the subversive extremist ideology and incite the planning of criminal projects targeting individuals and public and private infrastructure.
The suspected terrorist was placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation led by the BCIJ under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office in charge of terrorism and extremism cases, in order to identify the terrorist plans to which he has adhered and define his possible links with terrorist cells and organizations operating both in Morocco and abroad.
