Morocco Arrests 22-Year-Old ISIS Suspect Planning Terrorist Attacks

An individual suspected of being linked to the terrorist group Daesh was arrested in Salé. He would be involved in the preparation of "the execution of terrorist plans aimed at seriously undermining public order."
The arrest of the suspect, a repeat offender aged 22 known to the police, was made possible thanks to information from the DGST services, according to a statement from the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ).
According to the research and investigations carried out by the police, the accused has recently resumed his extremist activity and has started looking for raw materials used in the manufacture of explosive devices with a view to "executing his terrorist plan against vital facilities." The various searches carried out at his home allowed the seizure of electronic equipment and a sketch of plans for the execution of terrorist operations, as well as extremist manuscripts.
The suspect has been taken into custody pending the conclusions of the investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations, in order to determine all the ramifications of this terrorist project and its links with terrorist organizations abroad.
