Morocco Approves Sinopharm Vaccine, Set to Receive First Doses Next Week
After receiving the first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, Morocco has urgently approved the technical file of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. The first doses should be delivered on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, an emergency meeting was held this Friday with the national advisory commission to validate the evaluation of the technical file of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, which it has been examining for weeks.
The same source specifies that the National Advisory Commission unanimously concluded on the compliance of the Sinopharm vaccine after analyzing the scientific and technical data concerning the manufacturing process, the nature of the laboratory analyzes. This analysis also covered the raw material and the vaccine itself as well as the pre-clinical data and the results of the clinical studies.
In the same document, the Moroccan Ministry of Health announced that it has urgently authorized the Sinopharm vaccine against Covid-19, after the opinion of the National Advisory Commission for the Authorization of Anti-Coronavirus Vaccines.
