Morocco Approves Free Distribution of Molnupiravir Anti-Covid Pill in Hospitals

People with Covid-19, hospitalized in hospitals and healthcare centers, will soon be able to benefit free of charge from the anti-Covid drug, Molnupiravir. Morocco received a first batch of the pill at the end of December.
The announcement was made by the Director of Medicines and Pharmacy, Bouchra Meddah, specifying that Molnupiravir will also be marketed to private clinics and sold in pharmacies upon presentation of a prescription.
According to the official, the Ministry of Health has already received, last month, a first batch of the drug and is preparing to receive a second before the end of January, after validation of the product by the competent Moroccan services.
However, she specified, the treatment will be intended for all people aged 18 and over, with the exception of pregnant and breastfeeding women, adding that this treatment will be applied in all hospitals, simultaneously with others already underway.
The scientific commissions continue to closely monitor all data and news worldwide in order to provide other effective drugs that could strengthen the Kingdom’s health protocol, she said.
