Morocco Anticipates Surge in French Tourism as Travel Restrictions Ease

This summer season could coincide with the resumption of French tourists abroad, particularly in Morocco. The vaccine, screening tests, the usual health measures as well as the new features of the "Tous anti-Covid" application appear as a whole, as the way out of the crisis.
Optimistic, tourism professionals think that vaccination, even if it is not for the moment a prerequisite for traveling internationally, constitutes a kind of sesame to be protected from restrictions such as quarantine or having to present a negative PCR test. This is enough to encourage international travelers.
The much-desired restart will rely on the "Tous Anti-Covid" application. A digital solution set up by the French government, which keeps the results of PCR and antigen tests as well as the vaccination certificate against Covid. This novelty could thus allow a faster resumption of tourism. "It’s a very good thing. I was very demanding with the State for the implementation of this health certificate. The health data will be up to date, non-falsifiable on a digital medium easily consultable. It will streamline circulation," rejoices Jean-Pierre Mas, president of the Enterprises du Voyage, noting that traveling in France will be possible in the absence of traveling throughout Europe.
"There is a real desire to leave on the part of our clients. On our social networks, we have a lot of questions about the resumption. We are seeing the phenomenon of wandermust, that is to say the irrepressible desire to travel after having been deprived of it for a long time," notes Mas, who also points out that bookings will still be largely lower than normal despite the opening of European borders. But travel agencies are positive. Since the beginning of April, requests have been increasing, says Jean-Pierre Mas.
